What a fabulous 3km volcanic hike! Go at your own pace along the trail through the bubbling mud pots, volcanic craters, hot springs, waterfalls and fumaroles. It is a nice adventure through the jungle mountain. Other activities include mountain biking and tubing. Open Tuesday through Sunday 7am-3pm.

We had a brilliant day trip organized by Paul of Blue Crab Tours. Leaving from Tamarindo, we spent a long day with a succession of great activities. Each one was very well organized and also the right length of time!
Zipling and climbing in a spectacular river gorge followed by horseback riding through the countryside. Then on to white-water tubing for a really good length of river (watching the monkey’s in the trees as we floated past).
Lunch (and we were hungry by then!) and then on to the hot springs where we had fun plastering each other with volcanic mud.
Three adults and 2 kids (8 and 11) thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was a very full, exciting and rewarding day.

My group of friends and I sought out Blue Crab Water Adventures and Tours because we were interested in a Catamaran. We ended up having such a blast, that we spent the next four days partaking in nonstop activities with them! We went snorkeling, deep sea fishing, ATVing, Zip-lining, and took tours of the Ricon de la Vieja and Palo Verde.
Best week of the year, easily. And it was all thanks to the the staff of Blue Crab!
